On a Sunday night in February 1964 a generation was mesmerized by four working class lads from Liverpool England. Their electrifying performance had a profound effect on my life and the lives of many others.

The image of their lead guitar player wielding a big Gretsch Country Gentleman guitar instilled in me an incredible desire to play the instrument. There's no disputing the enormous impact these four had and continue to have on popular music and culture. There is no doubt they have been major contributors to the soundtrack of my life. The guitar has always been a very special companion to me throughout my life and I owe a big debt of gratitude to George Harrison.

Every time I hear a Beatles record, see a Beatles photo, watch a Beatles movie or  video. I realize that he is still an inspiration to me. As Michael Molenda from Guitar Player magazine so accurately stated. Losing George Harrison probably means saying goodbye to the chap who first thrilled you into exploring the instrument you adore.

The final track on RIOT`s 2002 album "Through The Storm" is an after thought, it's my tribute to George.

In light of the events of this past year, it's been a long and lonely winter for many indeed. And we all could use a little sun. So let it shine, we miss you George.

Here Comes the Sun was not planed to be on Through The Storm it was decided at the last minute as a tribute to George. It was put together quickly. There are no keyboards on the track, it was recorded entirely with guitars and a violin. The cello sound is actually a violin that was recorded on a four track cassette machine and slowed down to sound like a cello.
