Recording Info Update
Mark continues to move forward in the arrangement of the new songs and
is set to start recording them in the weeks and months to come, he's goal as reported
in a few interviews is to have the new album mostly done by October
shows in Japan with a tentatively scheduled release for
the end the year.
Keep checking back for more photos, videos and info on how the record is coming
along as it happens.

on past albums) that has brought you all the truthful information
leading up to now with the "REUNION" but until this
"REUNION" has ended RIOTSWEB.COM will be under construction
and is not apart in anyway of the RIOT "REUNION".
All this means to you the viewer is that you can still get the latest
information, tour dates, video clips, fans comments and personnel
information about RIOT members and Mark Reale him self here at
MarkReale.com its just not "affiliated"
"DIRECTLY" with the RIOT "REUNION"! Just because
the "REUNION" web site states that "OTHER" web

"DIRECTLY" with RIOT "REUNION" members does not
mean that you can’t find out TRUE up to date information on Mark

A perfect example is the information reported here first at

October 2009 in Tokyo, more creditable news we posted here first.
How about announcing the SWEDEN ROCK FEST at RIOTSWEB.COM another
creditable news information that was posted first at RIOTSWEB.COM back
in November of 2008 before the "REUNION" built their myspace
page. You see I have never mislead you the viewer in anyway and you
the viewer know this to be true! This statement from the RIOT
"REUNION" web site is very misleading and is upsetting you the viewers including myself.
Many of you know this to be a VERY creditable web site that has always
brought you the TRUTH for over 7 yrs, why would I start telling YOU
the viewer false information now? I would not do such a thing, that’s
just not who I am so it is clear that others are trying to discredit
this web site and RIOTSWEB.COM
In the end its up to you the viewer to decides what YOU would like to
know, see, read and hear about so I encourage you to continue checking
back here on a regular basis because you WILL get the latest and

Drum Sole
So what's been happening with Frank G wile the "REUNION" is
going on? Until the reunion has taken its course
the rest of the members are doing other projects including Frank's
Drum Clinic with John Macaluso. At the beginning
of March they held their fist drum showcase and was a huge
success with many
turning out for this event. You can check out a video clip of Frank as
he assaults the drums one more time, to view this video click here

Maybe some of you don't know but Frank has also been working on his
master degree in music and is now actually composing. "My
pieces are being played and recorded by a full orchestra on the stage
at Queens College, " Frank replies. "At the
moment I'm orchestrating a Finnish folk tune for an orchestral interpretation
and writing my own original compositions for mixed ensembles and
getting ready to record some of them at the college's recording
studio. I'm having a blast" states Frank.
Frank and the rest of the Virgin
Steel team will be performing On May 30th out on Long Island at
FRANK CARIOLA'S SUNDANCE located at: 621 Route 25A Rocky Point, Long

& the original Thundersteel demo
Just added to the 1985 NARITA project bio is LIAR & the original
Thundersteel song. Thundersteel features on vocals San Antonio's favored
Steve Cooper,
his high pitch metal voice dominates this song along with the thunder
of Dave McClain's pounding feet on the
bass drums. This gave a new taste of metal in the mid 80`s that was a
success with many fans. Liar is more of a melodic song with keyboards
and blazing riffs that where more friendly to radio but never the less
a strong song that could have seen its way to a RIOT album. To listen

Reunion News
So far, so good, people. We've just concluded our
first writing session as a band in almost 20 years and we're happy to
say that it was a very productive get-together. After exchanging
musical ideas long distance for the past few months, Mark and Mike
recently joined Don and Bobby down in San Antonio, Texas where many
RIOT songs have been written over the course of the last quarter
century, including much of 'The Privilege of Power.' Getting together
in the same room was a lot like getting back on the bike - it felt
very natural and the chemistry between us was back in an instant.
"The material that Bobby and I have been writing sounds like the
follow-up to 'Thundersteel' and TPOP; it's like we never missed a
beat!", states Don. "The new stuff is in the same vein
except even more intense! I describe it as "'Thundersteel' on
crack!."
Initially, we were hoping to come up with 6 or 7 tunes and ended up
with over a dozen really strong song ideas we'll be developing beyond
the demo stage. The next step is for Tony and Mark to work on melodies
and lyrics. Says Tony: "Don, Bobby, Mark and Mike have sent me
some incredibly rich and challenging instrumentals, and while I'm
practicing day and night to rebuild 'the Voice of Steel', I'm also
looking deep inside to find stories that will do justice to this
inspiring new music. I'll tell you this much - right now it sounds
like what you would expect if the five of us had kept progressing
together the whole time. It's intense music and promises to be a tour
de force that runs the whole gamut of what Metal can do. I've set
expectations pretty high, but this band has never settled for less. I
can't wait to share the new songs with our true fans who've waited as
long as we have for this to happen."
Mark had this to say: "I'm definitely having fun putting myself
back into the type of mindset we were in as a band when we created
'Thundersteel' and 'The Privilege of Power.' The five of us working
together - Don's crazy riffs, Bobby's insane drumming, Tony's soaring
vocals, and having the luxury of Mike's second guitar this time around
- makes for a unique collaboration."
We are all excited about going into the studio to record this album,
which will get under way over the summer. We've had the video camera
running throughout this writing session and will get some footage up
soon. Until then we thought it would be cool to start off our YouTube
channel OfficialRiotNYCTV with a rare live clip of the song 'Fight Or
Fall.' This footage was recorded in Tokyo, Japan on the 'Thundersteel'
tour in 1989. It was our first time there and is a great memory for
all of us.

Last but not least and back to the present - we finally have a
confirmed date and venue for our pre-Sweden Rock warm-up show! RIOT
will be kicking out the jams at the Scout Bar, Ste 101, 19314 US
Highway 281 in San Antonio on Tuesday, June 2. Check the Scout Bar
website for club info. We couldn't be more thrilled to be able to get
out in front of our fans in what has long been our second home: San
Antonio, Rock City! So mark your calendars, spread the word, and c'mon
down and help give us a proper send off! We'll see you there!

News
UPDATE - Mike Tirelli
After talking with Mike over the phone, he sounds really good and is
in great spirits. He is a bit week and gets tired easy while he is
adjusting to his new life style but his stomach is behaving normal.
The doctors are pleased with the results so far. He will be starting
nine more weeks of chemo this Thursday and should be done sometime
around July/August. He will have to go back for check ups for another
year or so but overall, he is very upbeat and optimistic about it all.
"Through it all Mike has shown what a true fighter he is reports Frank Gilchriest,
he gets knocked down but he gets back up and keeps fighting" So for
the next few months indeed keep the kind words coming in the
"SHOUT BOX" as he is reading them from all of you and he
sends his thanks.
Our prayers here at the RIOT camp go out to our brother in
Christ.

Tirelli`s Operation
I am very happy to inform all of
you that Mike Tirelli`s operation for stomach cancer was a success! After undergoing three months of chemotherapy treatment Mike
under went a major sugary of the stomach a few days ago. The doctors
where very pleased with the chemotherapy and had caught the disease in
time before damage was done to the stomach area thus having not to
repair as much as first thought.
Mike is now recovering nicely and is in very high spirits, he’s expected
to be leaving the hospital in about a week. He would like to thank all
of your support and prayers in his recovery and can’t wait to get
back on the stage again soon.

1.15.09 Mike Tirelli BenefitMike Tirelli has been an integral part of
the music scene for over 20 years both as a singer and songwriter. His talent and perseverance brought him world wide recognition performing with such bands
as Burning Starr, Riot, Messiah's Kiss, Holy Mother, Lastlix, Zillion, just to name a few.
In the fall of 2008 he was diagnosed with a life-threatening illness (Stomach
Cancer) and has been under going treatment for this illness. I just got off the phone with him today and he is
doing great and sounds very well, all the treatments have been a huge success in eradicating this disease. In March of
this year he will under go one last treatment that includes a surgery of the stomach.
With these types of treatments in place Tirelli has accrued substantial medical
bills fighting this battle. We would appreciate the support of friends in helping out one of our own with this
worthy cause.
